Wisteria is viewed as a symbol of auspiciousness in traditional Chinese painting. This is not only due to its purple color but also because when it blooms, it looks like glowing waterfall emitting otherworldly beauty. Therefore, many traditional Chinese painting artists are fond of Wisteria. In this painting, my intention is to use Wisteria and two chatting Chinese Bulbuls to demonstrate an atmosphere of peace and ease.
Capturing such a daily, mundane moment which can be seen so trivial therefore overlooked by people becomes my purpose to show that only under peaceful life conditions, many small, routine incidents can occur, such as two little birds hanging around a beautiful tree full of blooming flowers. Appreciating those often neglected moments and small events can be important to how we treasure life in peace.
